Since starting out as a cabinet maker over 35 years ago, designing, building and renovating executive homes has been my passion. As a result, you will always find me on site acting as the sole site supervisor ensuring your project reflects the quality and craftsmanship that has become synonymous with Ross Miner Construction. I am extremely fortunate to have developed long lasting relationships with the best professional subcontractors.  It is very rewarding to work with local companies and tradesmen who not only stand out in their fields, but excel.

You are invited to actively participate in the design process with me. Together we will use “SoftPlan” architectural CAD software to create your own exclusive design and building plans. Only a few builders are licensed by the Province of Ontario to produce building plans as I am, including all structural requirements and this skill has proved invaluable to me throughout the years.

Hello!

My name is Sonja Miner, designer and realtor (and yes, Ross’ wife).

Personalizing a custom home successfully requires a lot of time and energy.  To ease this commitment, included in your purchase are unlimited hours of my time. Whether I pick out material samples for your approval or we shop together for them, I am always available to make the process less time consuming and more enjoyable. I look forward to sharing with you the practical knowledge I’ve gained through many years of experience in both new home construction and design.

In addition, I have been a licensed realtor with Coldwell Banker Peter Benninger Realty since 1994. Given the opportunity to sell your current home I would demonstrate enthusiasm, dedication and honesty. With my experience selling resale homes as well as new homes, your move to a new home built by Ross can be a seamless process.

We knew from our first meeting with Ross and Sonja they were the team we wanted to work with. From the design process to the final stages of our home completion, the service we received was like no other. His use of computer software was very helpful.

Ross is very particular with the craftsmanship and the quality that goes into the homes he builds. He was always on site overlooking all the tradesmen throughout the whole process, making sure all the work was done with care and accuracy. He would consult with us at every step of the way to verify exactly how we wanted things. If he felt there was a better option as things moved along, he would always let us know in plenty of time.

Ross' wife Sonja was also there at every stage, offering her expertise and helping us with everything from kitchen and bath designs, to coordinating flooring, countertops and paint colours and choosing the exterior materials. Keeping our budget in mind, Sonja would show us materials that go with our vision but also show us other choices that we may like.

Ross and Sonja always made sure we were aware of all costs and thus there were no big surprises in the end.  Building our home was an exciting experience. The service didn’t stop when our home was completed and Ross always made himself available to answer our questions.

Having a quality builder like Ross working with us, along with the unlimited access to Sonja’s interior and exterior design expertise, we built the home of our dreams, where we can raise our family and create memories for years to come. If we were ever to build another home, we would definitely use Ross and Sonja again, and recommend them to anyone looking for a quality built home.

The house that Ross and Sonja designed and built is the second custom-built home my wife and I purchased. Compared to the previous experience with a different builder, this one was night-and-day more pleasant, and the result is substantially more to our liking.

Throughout the whole design and build process, Ross was extremely patient and helpful, offering up practical advice and guiding us through decisions on construction choices that we didn’t even know were available to us. Sonja, who was offered to us as our free interior design consultant, was great in listening to and understanding our design preferences. She eagerly spent days with us going through every interior design detail, kitchen selections, fixture choices, etc. to make sure we make the best decisions that fit in with our design preferences. The end result is a house that we can truly call our own and be very happy with the result.
